The banana industry is one of the fourth largest food product industries in the world after wheat, corn and rice and is developing every year. The banana trade industry is a multi-billion dollar industry in the world, if about 150 million tons of bananas are produced, distributed, imported and exported in the world every year. Importing bananas to Iran is done due to weather conditions for production and to eliminate the gap between the amount of demand for bananas and the amount of supply of this product. Iran is one of the largest importers of bananas in the world, importing about 700,000 tons of freshly produced bananas from many different countries such as the Philippines, India, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. The amount of bananas imported to Iran in 1400 was 602,000 tons, which has increased by about 60% in terms of weight.
